The first time when I thought about studying in the US happened when I was probably 14. World-class education with the best professors and brightest students from many countries was my dream. When you add the applied learning process and the whole liberal arts and sciences education system, the advantages of studying in America were crystal clear for me.
However, it was only a thought and, frankly, I did almost nothing, except for learning English, to make my dream come true. Fortunately, in the fall of 2018, I saw an ad saying that there would be a U.S. college fair and I’d have a chance to talk with representatives of different universities. Being skeptical about that, I decided to attend it, and I bet this decision changed my life a lot.
I became a member of the Competitive College Club in November of 2018, and it’s not only this community that helps prospective students become more prepared to apply to US universities but also a vibrant and supportive community of great people, many of whom are now my close friends. I definitely recommend you to apply to become a member of the CCC.
I started my college application process pretty late, only in June or July of 2019. Believe me, it wasn’t easy, but it was surely interesting. Trust me, you’ll discover so many things about yourself, and it will give you a lot of inspiration, in addition to the improvement in your level of English. I applied to two dozen universities and only 6 say they’d be happy to see me on campus. Right now I’m enrolled in Missouri Western State University, where I won the full scholarship that covers almost all of my expenses, except for my personal ones and the cost of textbooks.
The final thing I want to tell you is that everything is possible, including studying in the US while paying literally nothing for it. You should always give it a try, even if everyone else believes it’s impossible or you’re not capable of achieving your goal.
